Dear Readers,
Big inhale in. Smooth exhale out. Now repeat. Again and again and again. Relax your jaw and release those shoulders. Did that feel good? We all need more of that to navigate our days.
As the days get shorter and a new season begins, checking in with ourselves regarding our mental health is critical. Today is a great day to self reflect on how you are feeling because Mental Illness Awareness Week began yesterday. At Directive Health we are highlighting this important week because mental illness support is an important topic year round for us.
1 in 5 adults in America suffer from mental illness and there are lots of resources to navigate treatment to feel more like yourself.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) hosts this important week and covers an array of topics such as breaking stigmas around mental illness, coping mechanisms and treatment options, and understanding diagnoses.
Please check out their website and social media this week.
If you need assistance please contact the NAMI HelpLine which can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., ET.
Call 1-800-950-NAMI (6264), text “HelpLine” to 62640 or email us at helpline@nami.org.
Here’s to healthier and happier you. Take care, friends.
